After following the traditional path of many artists, Janet Roberts risked stepping outside the box to raise money for a struggling non profit that was dear to her heart. To begin, she set up a showing at a home near the non profits’ headquarters and found the event to be a huge success.
From there, she decided to use her gifts to affect the broader community. The Cancer Support Community-Benjamin Center was a natural fit since she is a four-time cancer survivor, herself. She recently offered a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of her art at the Fresh Canvas Party fundraiser this year and has already decided to contribute to the 2014 show. Janet is using her gifts to impact thousands of lives.
One of Janet’s favorite quotes is by Emerson: “What you do speaks so loudly, that I cannot hear what you say.”
What Janet is doing speaks loud and clear! She has found joy in using her God-given gifts as an artist to raise necessary dollars for organizations to whom she feels connected. Cancer Support Community-Benjamin Center and AID STILL REQUIRED are just two of the worthwhile organizations which have benefited from her generosity.
We at Crafts Changing Hearts have been changed by the perspective Janet has shared with us. Thank you Janet!
